Automatic welders (AVK-A40, AVK-A40P)
Intended use: hot-air welding of overlaps of thermoplastic roofing membranes (PVC, TPO, FPO) on flat roofs. Professional use by trained persons only.
- Hot air and hot nozzle (up to approx. 620 °C) – risk of burns and fire. Do not touch the nozzle or heater housing during operation and until cooled down. Never point the air stream at people, animals or flammable materials.
- Fire risk – do not work near flammable materials, gases or dust. After work, place the device on a non-flammable surface and let it cool down. Keep a fire extinguisher at hand.
- Electric shock – 230 V / 50 Hz supply only from an earthed socket with a residual current device (RCD 30 mA). Use extension cables of adequate cross-section, fully unwound. Do not work in rain or on a wet roof. Unplug before changing nozzles, cleaning or maintenance.
- Fumes – welding plastics (especially PVC) may release harmful fumes. Do not overheat the material, ensure air flow and do not inhale smoke.
- Working on roofs – use fall protection in line with health and safety rules. The device is heavy – carry it with two people or by the handles; never leave it unsecured on a sloped roof.
- Moving parts – the drive roller can draw in fingers, clothing or cables. Keep hands away from the rollers while driving.
- Wear protective gloves, safety glasses and work shoes. Never leave the switched-on device unattended. Keep away from children.
Hand welders and hot-air blowers (AVK-R16, R16B, R20, R16K, R20K, R34)
Intended use: welding PVC, TPO and FPO roofing membranes, detail work on parapets and flashings, heating and forming plastics. Professional use.
- Very hot air and nozzle – risk of burns and fire. Put the device down only on its stand or a non-flammable surface. After switching off, let it cool down (cool-down function on models with display) – do not pull the plug while the heater is hot.
- Do not cover the air inlet – risk of overheating and heater damage.
- Electric shock – 230 V supply from an earthed socket with RCD. Do not use in rain, damp conditions or with a damaged cable. Unplug before changing nozzles, heating elements or carbon brushes.
- Fire risk – do not use near flammable materials or in explosive atmospheres. Heat can be transferred to hidden materials (e.g. insulation under the membrane).
- Fumes – do not overheat plastics; ensure ventilation and do not inhale smoke.
- Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. Never leave the switched-on device unattended. Keep away from children. Do not put a hot welder or nozzles into the carrying case.
Spare parts (heating elements AVK-G16, AVK-G34, carbon brushes AVK-SW, nozzles AVK-D…)
- Heating elements and carbon brushes must be fitted by a qualified person or service centre, only with the power disconnected and the device cooled down. Incorrect fitting may cause electric shock and fire.
- Check that the specifications (230 V, power, dimensions, connectors) match your device before fitting. Do not use damaged or damp heating elements.
- Fit and remove nozzles only when cool; handle hot nozzles with pliers. Make sure the nozzle sits firmly on the heater tube.
Hand tools (pressure rollers AVK-RS…, AVK-RM6, AVK-RT40, AVK-RD40, seam probe AVK-SZ, tool set AVK-ZN)
- Rollers are used to press the welded overlap – wear gloves and keep the roller away from the hot air stream and nozzle.
- The seam probe has a sharp steel tip – risk of injury. Store it with a cover or in the case and keep away from children.
- Silicone and PTFE rollers may be damaged by contact with a hot nozzle.
Disposal and conformity
- Electrical devices marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin must not be disposed of with household waste. Hand in used equipment at a WEEE collection point or contact us.
- Electrical devices are supplied with an EU Declaration of Conformity (CE marking) and an operating manual. The declaration for a specific model is available on request: sklep@avelkor.pl.
